Update in the works…

Please bear with us as we get the site up to speed. But check out the News, Buy, and Reviews section for the latest information about Strange Roads: The Songs of Rolled Gold—our tribute to the incomparable band known as The Action. It’s out in late July and available for pre-order now. We’re grateful to everyone who has given the record a listen!

EP Now On Sale at Bomp! in the U.S., More Airplay, and Some Reviews

Great news: If you’re in the U.S., you can find the new EP of Bowie/Action covers at Bomp! online for a cool $10.

A big thanks to DJ Penny Lane over at Punks in Parkas for playing our cover of “Can’t Help Thinking About Me” last month. You can hear the episode here.

We’re also grateful for some new reviews, including one in Shindig!, one written by Ian McCann for the forthcoming Record Collector, one by Henry Schneider for Exposé Online, and another by Jonathan Levitt for Blurt. We’re in the process of updating our Reviews page, but in the meantime, the wonderful Fruits de Mer has compiled several write-ups of our EP and of other new/must-hear FdM releases on their reviews page.

We’ll be back with more news soon.

We’re excited to announce our latest collaboration with Fruits de Mer—crustacean 73, a four-song EP of songs by The Action and ’60s-era Bowie:

Can’t Help Thinking About Me (Bowie)
Look At The View (The Action)

Let Me Sleep Beside You (Bowie)
Strange Roads (The Action)

If you’re part of FdM’s members club, you probably heard “Can’t Help Thinking About Me” on the end-of-the-year (2015) exclusive giveaway album Changes: Songs Written By David Bowie. (Who could have ever imagined we’d be living without him now?)

Since the release of our cover of that track, Gideon Coe has been kind enough to play it on his Radio 6 show three times. (You can listen to the Peter Tosh in Concert show for 10 more days.) And just yesterday, Tom Ravenscroft, sitting in for Gideon Coe, played our version of “Can’t Help Thinking About Me” right between The Move and The Make-Up. We couldn’t be happier to be included in the lineup. You can listen to the broadcast for another 29 days. We’re second from the top of the playlist.

Thanks, also, to the following internet radio stations for including us in your lineup:

The Sunrise Ocean Bender

Green Arrow Radio

Andy Lewis’ Soho Radio

Pet Sounds Podcast

Can’t Help Thinking About ‘Fashion’

It’s been too long!

We recently covered a couple Bowie tracks—one of which now appears on Fashion, a great freebie for Fruits de Mer members. You can get a taste of our rendition of “Can’t Help Thinking About Me” here, at the 1:20 mark:

To hear the complete track, as well as Cary Grace’s cover of “Black Country Rock,” check out Gideon Coe’s Radio 6 show from 9 November. You can stream the show for eight more days.

For more information about the Fashion freebie CD, give Fruits de Mer a visit here.

Thanks a lot for listening!
