It’s been a long time, but we’re happy to report that our cover of the Bee Gees’ “Red Chair, Fade Away” is on Plankton—A Fruits de Mer Compilation, the first installment of Record Collector’s Modern Collectibles vinyl series. It’s selling for £19.99 plus shipping. Get it now, before it goes for way more on eBay—which it will (FdM’s A Phase We’re Going Through comp just went for $454!).
Also, the International Pop Overthrow festival is currently underway, and we’re playing the L.A. leg of it August at Fais Do Do. Check the SHOWS section for more info.
We had a great time playing Fais Do Do last Friday and are working on setting up more shows in the near future. With any luck, that will include another adventure in Northern California. We’re also just getting started on a new Fruits de Mer collaboration, which we’ll be able to tell you more about soon, hopefully.
Please check out Vol. 16 of Clifton’s Corner over at Aquarium Drunkard, a great independent audio blog. Clifton, aka DJ Soft Touch, is a sought-after L.A. DJ who spins soul, R&B, funk, psych, and other great tunes at some of the L.A. area’s most popular bars. He‘s a great friend with impeccable taste, which is why we were taken aback/flattered/touched when he included three Sidewalk Society tracks in this installment of Clifton’s Corner. (He’s also one of L.A.’s most stylish men. Nothing to sneeze at.)
